Coronavirus Aide, Recovery, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
Multi-County Community Service Agency, Inc. (MCCSA) has received CARES funding from the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division of Community Services:
Community Service Block Grant (CSBG CARES Act)
- Households meeting the 200% poverty guideline may qualify
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP CARES Act)
- Households meeting the 60% poverty guideline may qualify
These fund will be used to provide assistance to eligible low-income persons in our nine (9) county service area as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. MCCSA will focus on housing, employment, education and other household burdens that may exist. Direct services include, but not limited to, rent/mortgage, home energy bills, energy related services, and other household barriers as a direct result of COVID-19. Additional eligible assistance may be provided on a case-by-case basis.
The stimulus checks are not considered income when determining income eligibility. Air conditioners and heaters may not be purchased with CARES Act funds.
